Who saw Emily Procter (CSI:Miami), Gary Sinese (CSI:NY), and Simon Baker (Mentalist) on the 2009 Grammy Awards? They were all presenters, and no one has mentioned it!
It's not totally an old fogy show, the Jonas Brothers performed, with Stevie Wonder -- it was fantastic!

I had the pleasure of working until 11:30 PM the night the Grammy Award was on. I knew that Emily was a presenter. I love Stevie Wonder and would have enjoyed seeing him.

Thanks, Mirium. Yep, that's Emily all right! I've never seen anything by the Jonas Brothers. They're pretty good. And Stevie Wonder is still going strong. That's great!
I quit watching most of these awards shows they turned into little more than self-congratulatory political lovefests. I'll watch the Country Music Awards and a few others, but I've just become so soured by what the others have become in recent years.

I watched the entire three and a half hours just to see Green Day present album of the year (even though none of us fans knew when or what they were presenting, just that they were.) If anyone didn't know I'm sort of a faithful fan of Green Day. I did see Emily Procter (she presented with Jason Mraz right? Is that how you spell his name?) And Gary Sinise. Haha, last night my dad was watching Forrest Gump. Man, Gary Sinise is scary in that movie. xD You know, the Jonas Brothers actually are pretty good. This coming from someone who despises Disney stars. They could have done just as well or better without the help from Disney, I think. They seem pretty real and they are good performers. The performance they did with Stevie Wonder was awesome too, but I think Nick Jonas (the littlest one xD) forgot some of the words to Stevie's song. Oh well, didn't mess up big or anything. My mom was so weird when Simon Baker came on. She wouldn't shut up about how "cute" he looked with glasses on. I swear she said (to him on the TV by the way) that he looked cute, about 5 times in the short time he was on. XD She's never said anything about him while I've been watching The Mentalist before.

No problem, I'm all for free-floating gratitude. I'd never seen the Jonas Brothers before either, and was quite surprised at how good they are -- and the fact that Stevie Wonder thought they're good enough to work with is impressive. Despite their youth, they sound like real musicians, not a Boy Band. They also sounded amazingly mature about their success, when Letterman interviewed them. I'm kind of tired of the political statements on awards shows too, and these days I often support the politicians being lauded, so it's not because I'm annoyed at the content. There's a time and place for everything, and it used to be that making political statements in inappropriate occasions was a useful tactic because it was so unusual. Now it's just boring and ill-bred. But I still watch them, because the performances and watching people who deserve it being honored is worth sitting through the silly bits. (Oh, and glad you liked the videos.)

Just thought I'd add that I've seen the Jonas Brothers live twice. They do put on a good show and they are good performers!
Okay that's all I had to say! ;D
