Tornadoes have devastated many lives these past couple of days in several states. They have killed about 6 people across the south. I live in Murfreesboro TN where a mother and her 9 week old daughter were killed in the storm. It's scary to know that it was about 3 miles from my house. There are a lot of people who were effected by this storm, and my thoughts and prayers go out to every one of them. My parents took these pictures: And here was a video tribute someone made:

Oh, wow. My thoughts and prayers out to all of you, CSIkt.
We had some nailbiting moments here in the Carolinas. Though the really hairy stuff was south of us, we had some pea-sized hail.
The video tribute didn't show up. (Hugs over the miles)

Foxnews.com had pictures of the Murfreesboro tornado, and yes, it looked just like the one in your parents' pics.
Here it's not unusual for us to get wall clouds or twin tornadoes, especially when what's left of a hurricane comes through here (I live in Charlotte, NC). Though they're not as big, they can be just as dangerous because by the time the Doppler detects rotation, they're right there.
I hope we can have a moment of silence for those in Murfreesboro and in Mena, Arkansas. Not just for those who died, but for those who survived.

Wow! Glad you're okay, Suzi. My thoughts and prayers to your neighbors. Hubby grew up in eastern Missouri, which is Tornado Alley, and he pounded it into my head that those are nothing to mess with.
Powerful tribute. I think the worst part of that was no shortage of pictures to fill almost five minutes of music.
But you're right. The God who gives, and the God who takes away.

Yikes! Sounds like you might have had a microburst (sort of a mini-tornado, just as nasty but it doesn't travel as far).
Glad you didn't get hurt!
