Geez, famous people have been dropping like flies this last week. (Actually, the flies are winning...) So, I'm starting to feel happy about the unlikely survivors. David Bowie. David Letterman. Dave Edmunds. Who else should we celebrate because they're still here, making us happy? They don't have to be Daves, although it might be fun to compile a list of Daves We Like. And Steves, too -- I read somewhere that Dave and Steve are the most common male names in the U.S. Nominations? Hmm, maybe we can have a poll after all the nominations are in.

Johnny Depp... ;D Oh and Will Smith, just because I had a dream a few weeks ago that he had died, and it was a sad dream. They're still pretty young and as far as I know healthy, but still. I could think of more... but I don't want to.
Oh! Every guy from Green Day. Any of them die any time soon, I will cry like it's a family member... :/

What about Patrick Swazey?!?! He has cancer! But he's still alive... I hope he isn't the third celebrated to die this time... since so far it's been Billy Mayes and some old actress that I don't know her name.

I thought of another one today! Dick Van Dyke! ;D Of course I wasn't alive when he was in movies and everything or when he had his show but I love Mary Poppins and of course Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Oh and he was pretty awesome in the first Night at the Museum movie. Plus whenever you see him on TV on like, TMZ or something, he just seems so happy and awesome. Ha. I love him.

Or perhaps I should say IT TOOK ME A WHILE TO FIGURE OUT WHO BILLY MAYES WAS. (It just seem right to shout in his memory. ) Do you remember anything about the old actress, from whatever announcement you heard? I haven't heard a word about it, and I'm fond of quite a few old actresses. Going back to the theme of this thread, I'm glad Robert "Robin" MacNeil and Jim Lehrer are still around, and Jim hasn't even retired.

She was -- Gale Storm was one of those performers who never really got the spotlight, but almost everyone knew who they were. She's got three stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, which gives you an idea how much she was respected. www.latimes.com/news/obituaries/la-me-gale-storm29-2009jun29,0,7502329.story We've lost another one (this seems to be a bad moment to be famous and old, doesn't it?) -- Karl Malden. He was another actor who always played the "also starring" role at best, but always gave a great performance. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karl_MaldenHere's to the dependable-but-not-flashy artists! *lifts glasses on high* (Jeez, I wonder how Tom Lehrer is doing?) www.privatehand.com/flash/elements.html
