I know how you feel. First it started off Jay being sick, then my mom got it, then my dad got it, so guess who's left... me . I've had to blow my nose so many times my nose had started feeling better (after getting shot with a pellet gun.. not blowing my nose) and now it hurts again . Oh well.. I just hope I get over the crud before we go to Dallas..

DEFINITELY! That's just plain disgusting and very unprofessional. And it's not just a kid thing either. I work with women in their 40's and 50's who will do that. Just makes me want to

Similar to the chewing but:
When someone stands over your shoulder and peers at whatever you're doing.

My sister is CONSTANTLY doing that to my dvd's. It's come to the point where every Saturday or Sunday I have to sit down and rearrange my dvds all over again. Oh I HATE that. Especially when you pay for the chips.

Similar to the chewing but: When someone stands over your shoulder and peers at whatever you're doing. Thanks for the reminder, Luf100. My boss is a terrific guy, but he'll sneak up and do that, especially since I have my headphones on while I'm working and can't really hear him. He likes to lurk around and catch people goofing off or surfing the net. One day he got REAAALLLY close behind me. I just looked up and said "Randy, if you breathed on my neck like that 20 years ago, things might've been different." He turned about five shades of red and hasn't snuck up on me since. Of course I don't give him a reason to.

I can't STAND IT when people stand behind me and watch me draw, or read what I'm writing. Tweaks me out.
Oh. I don't know if it counts as a petpeeve, but: The X-Files theme song. CREEPS ME OUT SO MUCH, AND I HAVE NO IDEA WHY. I never watched the show! My brother decided to be mean and play it on youtube for 10 minutes one day. Tweaked me riiight out.

Weather forecasts that make you believe the end of the world is coming. There is a possibility we could have ONE OR TWO SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS (I hate lightning), which is part and parcel of living in the Southeastern U.S. this time of year. Yet to listen to some weather forecasts, they might as well just say "OH MY GOD, WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE!!" I once spoke with a weather forecaster (used him as one of my models in my fanfic "Cold Rain"). He admitted that weather forecasting is to this day the most inaccurate science known. But to hear some of these people sound the alarm, I might as well go out back, dig a hole, and build an underground shelter or something and never come out! Just tell me the when and where, if possible, and how bad you THINK IT MIGHT BE!!

I knoooow!!! They call for severe storms and everybody makes it seem worse than it actually will be. Although sometimes I'm one of the ones hitting a major panic button cause after seeing many funnels go over your house, and seeing a neighbor's house struck by lighting they have the tendecy of freaking you out

I fully agree with you, csikt. Lightning didn't bother me until I had a bad experience with it some 20 years ago when it came VERY, VERY close to me not once but twice in a week. I've gotten better in the sense that I no longer go into full-blown panic attacks. I hope your neighbor is okay. That's pretty scary! And God bless you folks who live in Tornado Alley this time of year. I have family in eastern Missouri, and they're pretty nonchalant about it. "Oh, it's just a lot of wind!" Uh, yeah, okay. Keep it over there. Strange as it sounds, some of the fiercest storms we've ever had in this region came out of absolutely nowhere or somehow were totally unannounced. About five years ago we had a nasty cold front come barreling across the state of North Carolina. We lost some shingles off our roof, the neighbor's garbage can got blown about 3 blocks, and some trees snapped. The weather center HAD NO IDEA WHERE THAT CAME FROM!! Thankfully, it looks like the nasty stuff from this storm will pass south and east of us. And so much for those watch boxes. Nobody was expecting that tornado that ripped through the Fort Bragg area (about 3 hours east of us. I live in Charlotte; just a lot of rain for us).
