Oh I haaate that. It's so annoying. And impolite.
I cannot stand when someone asks a question to no one in specific and then you anwser it and then the person is just all rude and says they weren't asking you. Psh. If you're not asking me then ask whoever you're asking. Common sense... Oh and when you correct someone and they get mad at you. It's like wow I'm just trying to help. You don't need to be nasty about it. I'm not gonna bother anymore and I'll laugh when you get a bad mark on something and then start saying how you're gonna fail the class because no one helps you.

Pet Peeve -- when CBS takes a perfectly good show that is getting excellent (top 20) ratings, moves it around the schedule and makes it hard to find and it still gets good ratings, stops promoting it at ALL and it STILL gets good ratings, so they quit trying to kill it and just cancel it even though they renew shows that have much smaller audiences. And then claim it was because the show was "too expensive," when the real reason was that it wasn't watched by the 18-25 demographic. And they don't even give it a good sendoff, no 2-hour finale, nosirree -- instead they just announce the morning of the last episode that it's off the schedule.
My Jack MaClone was very disoriented this morning.
(WAT, in case anyone's wondering.)

Wow mirium. That has to suck! It gets cancelled and the fans only find out the day of the finale, forever!? That would make me super mad.

They announced the cancellation less than 12 hours before the last episode ended. It makes me want to Go Jack on them -- but I'm still deciding whether that's being cynical and resigned and making snide remarks, or breaking all the rules and playing rough to achieve the Right Result. Both modes are classic Jack. It's affecting me a bit in real life. A fellow employee (it would be stretching things to call him a co- worker) has been obstructive and condescending and basically a jerk for quite a while now, and he finally pulled a stunt that I couldn't work around and would affect results, so I called him on it -- basically informed him that if he didn't get his act together and do his part, he'd be twisting in the wind and I'd be pointing a heavy-duty fan in his direction. He was astonished, of course (I think it's the first time I've ever heard anyone actually say "But...but...but...."). I informed him that "pleasant" is not a synonym for "pushover," and I was not adverse to the concept of him becoming roadkill. And walked away. Spotted him several times during the day, frantically asking other people to teach him how to do his job. I would have done it anyway, but if WAT hadn't been cancelled, I wouldn't have enjoyed it so much.

Well I missed the WAT Season Finale because I hadn't heard that it was cancelled. I was feeling to lazy to stay up and watch it so I figured I'd watch it later in reruns but apparently I can't do that anymore. Grrr. But it pisses me off. They cancelled Eleventh Hour too which doesn't piss me off as much but it still makes very displeased with them. Right now I'm praying that NBC or Fox or SOMEONE decides to pick WAT or EH up. That would make my year.

Well, they're still running WAT repeats; don't know if they'll repeat the finale though. If you want a synopsis of the finale, let me know on the WAT thread -- I'd give it here, but if I derail this one with non-peevish posts, TPTB here might tut-tut at me. I'm in a better mood today, though. The Big Honcho noticed the jerk's odd behavior (flat-out panic is hard to miss, he's been sweating so much it's been steaming up the windows) and asked me for an informal status report. I informed her that the project as a whole is ahead of schedule, but that won't last long because we're dead in the water until the jerk completes his part, which he just started working on yesterday and he seems to be encountering some difficulties he didn't expect, and gave her my best deadpan look. She chuckled and shortly afterwards, she set a Status Meeting for Tuesday; we're each going to have to report on our part of the project. Individually. With the focus on what each of us is waiting for before we can proceed to the next stage, so she can identify any bottlenecks. Wonder how the jerk will be spending the Memorial Day holiday? Not much point in him coming in if there's no one around to explain things to him.

This one I REALLY REALLY have to complain about. It bothered me in the beginning, and it still bothers me to know that there are some arrogant people out there.
Recently, a 13 year old here went playing in the river with his brother and friends when tragically he got swept away. A search volunteer found his body 5 days later. The day they found his body, the radio talk show on one of the AM stations opened the lines to allow people to express their sympathy and condolences to the family. One call that came in didn't offer condolences and said straight out "He shouldn't have been in the river". It bothers me to the least bit. There were some other things said, and this guy made it sound like he was never a kid before. It was like he took a tragic accident and started pushing blame on people. I don't think it was right for him to be cold, get on and say something like that, knowing the family might have been listening. And from what I guessed, they were listening because someone with a connection to the family, perhaps the uncle, had called in like a half hour before. They probably felt like 2#!t then, and hearing that probably made them feel like 2#!t even more

this guy made it sound like he was never a kid before. Maybe he never was a kid -- maybe his parents never let him do anything fun, and he's just echoing the kind of things they said to him. *always tries to see things from the other side* If he grew up lonely, never able to join the fun, it would make sense if he'd developed a "sour grapes" habit of sneering at those who were less restricted. Not that his comments were okay, they were nasty and uncalled for. The parents were probably already blaming themselves. But he isn't necessarily a monster. Another good example of "I'd rather deal with someone like that than be someone like that." The guy must live a miserable life inside his head.

New Pet Peeve- People who hog phones. Today my school is calling all the people who applied to take this one class next year (its like a really popular class and they only do it every other year so you have to apply to take it) and telling them if they got in or not. I applied because even though I'm not really supposed to be in it I'm graduating a year early so it's my only chance to do it. Anyway I get this morning and I walk into the kitchen and guess what? My sister's on the phone. That was about two hours ago. She's still on the phone.

The fact that my room doesn't have a door on it. Everyone is in and out as they please and it pisses me off.
