"Hours of boredom, punctuated by moments of stark terror" -- which seems to have been said by a lot of people about a lot of professions/activities, but certainly applies to paramedics. Plus they have to deal with the idiots who think that if they trash something/someone important, the importance will rub off, so they harass anyone who's publically doing a crucial job -- and paramedics are right out there amidst the great unwashed. And the idiots who are so busy being self absorbed, they don't think at all -- that while the bus was on a run for their stubbed toe, someone who just got hit by a truck has to wait. And the idiots who demand instant answers to everything -- "what's wrong with him? Is he going to die?" (as the paramedics walk in the door). ............................ ;D ;D ;D

People who say something/someone sucks, just because I like it, when they either don't know anything about this something/someone, or they know perfectly well that this something/someone is fine. Why do you feel the need to make me sad? I don't say the things you do/like suck.

I've always thought the dissers must be sadly insecure -- they're so busy "defending" themselves by putting down everyone/everything that's different from their own chosen way. Or small-minded -- is it really that difficult to conceive of two (or more) things being good at once? Do we have to be limited to one at a time?

Good majority of the time they're just joking. We just tell that person to go suck something of theirs that I'm not going to mention since it will violate terms of conditions with Proboards with the word *!^(# at the end

No, I'm positive. This person constantly does it, and she's not the type to joke around like that, or at all really.

Waking up early the morning you have a blood test and feeling like you could eat a horse. But then you remember you're not allowed to eat anything till afterwards. Grrr.

When the nurse makes a mistake and lists you as a fasting blood test when really it was supposed to be a random one and the doctor doing your test tells you that you were actually allowed to eat.

When the nurse makes a mistake and lists you as a fasting blood test when really it was supposed to be a random one and the doctor doing your test tells you that you were actually allowed to eat. Well if they were testing for diabetes like you've been telling me, well, I hate to be the one to tell you this, but you might want to get a second opinion or a different doctor. Doctors usually like to get the blood sugar levels BEFORE you eat, because that gives a more accurate result than if you ate. Your blood sugar level will fluxuate after you eat. So if they test your blood after you eat, and it's at 130, it's not accurate to say that you are a diabetic. This sounds like a case that might support the facebook group "Behind every skilled doctor is a nurse saving their @$$" CC
