(the one that opens with a Divorce Celebration ceremony) -- Edit: Oops, the real title of the episode is "Divorce Party." Thanks for the correction, luf! I'm thinking the writers have finally gotten their act together again. Sure, there were some problems with the episode (Why would a labrat be telling Eric how GC - gas chromotography - works? Okay, maybe the tech was just reminding him that the acetone would volatize quicker, but that's a stretch....). And why didn't the two kids just run away instead of committing murder? Although then it would have been a WAT episode instead of CSIM, but really. But it was great to see Kyle struggling to do the right thing, and how being with Julia has scarred him -- he clearly expected to be the one who was punished if she had stolen the pills. They're back to remembering what happened to characters in the past and letting it show in their behavior, instead of having them react only to to what had just happened, yay! And I liked the ambiguous evidence -- was the nitrate from making chloroform or from using fertilyzer? Was the acetone from making chloroform or removing nail polish? (Although when Ryan announced that the acetone puddle was too big to be a spill, I thought, "obviously he's never spilled a whole bottle of polish remover!" ) I choked on my popcorn when the suspect said "Intimidating!" and then looked at Frank and said, "Not you." Looks like we're going to see a lot more of Kyle, and he might have a lovely dilemma if he realizes the ME is popping pills. Got a dumb question -- is Dr. Price's name Tara or Sara? *is easily confused* I liked this episode so much, I'll even forgive Horatio for wearing THE WRETCHED SHIRT!!!!!! Oh, and does anyone recognize the accent of the the new lab tech? "Not American" is the best I could do, but -- British? Aussie? Canadian? Something else?

It's "Tara."
Sorry, but did you say the M.E. is popping pills?? We actually taped the epi last night, and I'll be watching it this evening. The new tech's accent sounds British. (SarryB might be able to let us know for sure. I've heard people from parts of Canada whom I swore were from Scotland).
One thing that might be a nitpick, but I'd like to see it happen. I know they've brought in some new techs, but we really don't know anything about them. There's a young female cybertech and the lab tech with the accent. That's all I could tell you about them. We knew Dan Cooper and Tyler. We knew Sutton, Cynthia Wells, and I think there was another one. Obviously we know Maxine Valera. She even got to do some acting in "Internal Affairs" (when Natalia's ex was murdered). Well, now that CBS knows my name, maybe it's time to get back out there and rattle their cages.
So while Frank and Ryan have been stealing Rick's ties, Horatio has been stealing his shirts, huh?
I guess we shall see. Thanks, Mirium.

Oh JL apparently Stetlers gonna be in 7.21. I don't know if you heard but I saw the jab at Rick's clothing and it reminded me. Last nights episode was pretty goood. I would have liked to see more closure about what happened with the two kids and their baby but I guess we'll never really know what happened to them. Oh well. And was Ryan even in the episode? I don't remember seeing him.. or Natalia..

I thought it was really good. Maybe with Kyle working in the morgue, he and his dad will have more interaction. I can't help but wonder how long it will take for Julia to lay a guilt trip on him to make him move back in with her. I can't believe Tara took those pills like that. I know I'm dreaming, but maybe it's a storyline to where she goes and maybe Alexx will come back. I know that's a HUGE stretch, but I miss her and would LOVE to see her come back.... It was a good show, and like you said, maybe the writers have got their stuff together again....

Wow. I wish my Dad gave me my own apartment at the age of 17. Hell, I think where I live, we'd call that a HOUSE.
Anyway, I was so HAPPY! I was actually able to sit throught the entire episode and not channel flip!
And Frank's just gosh darn hilarious!
Tara popping pills-- never saw that coming. I was for sure that Jules took them.
YAAAAY RICK'S COMING BACK! *parties*
Ryan and Nat were both definitely in the episode. I was actually pleased that they got screen time!
Next week's episode looks...confusing....and E/C suffocated..*sighs*

Finally saw the epi. I have to say that I was genuinely impressed. I also like the fact that they involved the techs a lot more in the process. I even like the new cybertech (Gee, does that mean I'm gonna have to retire Emmie? ) So it looks like Dr. Price might have been, er, uh, examining the evidence, huh? That's really sad. And Oxy is some pretty heavy stuff. Is Kyle only 17? I thought he was older. Either way, it looks like he's coming around. So if Dr. Price has been sampling the evidence, well, between that, the E/C thing, and Horatio and the pedophile, there could be any number of things the Rickster could be investigating. As a matter of fact, I was a little disappointed because I missed a couple of scenes when my ancient VCR tape stretched. Guess I'm gonna have to replace it. Wow! Glad to see the old Miami's starting to come back around! (Still saving the fluffy red jammies and the bon-bons for when Rickypoo comes back!

Wow. I wish my Dad gave me my own apartment at the age of 17. Hell, I think where I live, we'd call that a HOUSE. I had the impression that Kyle was 16 when he first turned up -- either someone said he'd only be in parental custody for another 18 months or 2 years, or someone said how old he was and I did the arithmetic. But I could be wrong about that. If I'm right, though, he could be 18 now -- which could explain how Kyle could move out on his own at all, if he was still a minor, Julia would still have custody and how likely is it that she'd give permission for Kyle to not live with her? If he's 18 now, it would also make more sense that he's taking on a full-time job instead of going to high school. I doubt that Kyle's apartment takes up the whole building -- it looked like at least a two-flat to me, and possibly a four-flat. I'm also wondering if Horatio is Kyle's landlord -- ages ago, he mentioned selling some of his real estate in an episode, and it wouldn't be odd for him to invest in a rental property with the idea that Kyle could move into one of the apartments as soon as he became a legal adult. Jaglady said: Nah, the Wretched Shirt is that &%(*$ black shirt with white pinstripes that he wore every day for more than a year after Marisol died. For a while, furrymom and I were agitating for people to start mailing shirts to the wardrobe department so they'd have no excuse to keep dressing him in it. I don't remember Stetler ever wearing one like that; do you? I've been enjoying the episode's title, "Voluntary Commitment" -- did it refer to the bigamist's commitment to two families? To Horatio's commitment to Kyle? To Julia admitting she's a little crazy and needs treatment? To how the CSIs feel about their jobs? To E/C? To.....?

The episode was actually called Divorce Party... at least that's what came up on my info and it's on Talk CSI. I never even heard the name "Voluntary Commitment", but I have to say it sounds better than "Divorce Party". : / My thoughts, that are copy and pasted with editing: Uhm I'm kind of really confused on the last scene there with Tara. Did she have those pills because she realized she actually hadn't put them in the evidence box and got Julia and Kyle in trouble for no reason, or is she the one who stole them? EDIT: After reading everywhere I've come to the conclusion she actually WAS stealing them. Whoa. I was shocked, especially since I'm a spoiler fiend and can't stop reading them, and I had no clue that would happen. Wonder how that's gonna play out. Tons of time for Michael Travers tonight, I think he was in the episode more than Ryan and Natalia. Plus there was some other new guy (the caveman like, but still kinda cute one) that Ryan was sort of teasing. I loved how Calleigh said "oh babe come this way" to Tara. It seemed such a Calleigh thing to say. I love Frank so much, that's all. And he didn't even do much. But that guy calling him 'honey' was funny. Aaw, I love that Julia is finally done with Kyle (for now at least) and even though he's not living with Horatio, he still has his own place all thanks to Horatio. I didn't realize this would be the episode he got the job in the morgue. I think I'm going to like having him there more than I thought. I agree. He didn't look very dead to me either. One more episode between Ryan's storyline. *keeps counting down*

I got the "Voluntary Commitment" title from CBS's schedule page www.cbs.com/info/schedule/index.php a couple of days before the episode aired -- which does not necessarily mean it's right. According to their "About the Show" page, Alexx Woods is still the ME. And "Divorce Party" certainly has more to do with the episode. Edit: just went back to the CBS site and they're calling it "Divorce Party" now. Silly sausages. I know I didn't dream it, because I wrote down a list of episode titles for several shows.... Is it my imagination, or do all the stereotypical-mannerisms gay guys on the show flirt with Frank?

I literally never noticed that until you pointed that out! And LOL about sending in shirts. Of course, when I told hubby about that, he said, "What's wrong with that?" Of course, he FINALLY got rid of those white Miami Vice shirts I bought him when we were first married-- IN 1986!! The reason? They shrunk. I also appreciate the fact that they're letting Calleigh be a Southerner again. Now maybe they should let her wear some comfortable shoes to a crime scene. I bet her feet are just killing her in those dang stilettos!
