Okay I had to start this like the second after I watched it. Here's my copy and pasted rambling thoughts on the whole thing. Probably makes no sense at all. I don't really know where to start. The beginning was fine, although I felt bad for Ryan having to clean his own wounds and the salt water for his tooth and everything. The first time he started stealing the evidence I felt so sad. Even though I knew it was going to happen, it was still so unlike Ryan that it made me sad. When he framed the security guy, that was even more shocking. I was like No Ryan don't do it! Horatio did look pissed when he figured out Ryan was interfering. I'm glad he wasn't just all like "Oh it's okay Mr. Wolfe, I understand." Ryan seemed really POed at Calleigh when he walked out and said to Eric "I've got secrets, don't tell anybody." I think he's probably mad that he knows they're in a relationship and they're not coming clean. I don't really think it had to do with the fact that Calleigh was saying he doesn't have to keep secrets. When Ryan picked up the gun (or whatever it was, I really didn't see what it was) even he seemed surprised at himself when Calleigh yelled at him. Uuhm, the scene when the Russian guy called Ryan and started saying "You didn't do what I asked" and saying he should have killed him when he had the chance and now he'll have to live with the consequences was intense. I actually didn't know if Billy was going to make it out of there alive. Loved that Ryan started yelling in the middle of the lab, and when Horatio got on the phone he just sort of sat down while everyone looked at him. I was kinda hoping he'd cry, but alas, he didn't. I have a feeling Billy and the Russians will be back, especially seeing what the girl said at the end. I wonder if next episode Calleigh and Eric will have been told what was happening with Ryan. I was aaawing when Eric told him to get out. He should have yelled at Eric saying he didn't know what he'd gone through, like Eric would have done if it was him. And the whole thing at the end with Horatio saying they underestimated Ryan, loved it. Uhm, that's really all I can think right now... it was so good. Finally something for the Ryan fans, and for him! ;D Oh P.S. Why does Eric get a shirtless scene but all we get to see of Ryan is his shoulder and not even half of his chest? Pfft.

This episode had my stomach in knots for a good 30 minutes. I think if the Russians hadn't pulled the "Billy " card, Ryan probably would have been beaten almost to death. Despite the beating,Ryan still manged to collect some evidence. Ryan having to clean his own wounds, using salt water on that yanked tooth, just awful.Every time evidence was mishandled, you could feel how torn Ryan was. I was so glad when Horatio found out, that is when my stomach actually felt better. Jonathan Togo was so great in this episode. He portrayed fear, hurt, anger and frustration perfectly. When Ryan thought that Billy was about to be killed,it made me tear up a little to hear Ryan's anguished "NO". The one thing I would have liked was a better scene between Ryan,Calleigh and Eric at the end,I hated that scene. I hope it's something that the writers will deal with in an upcoming episode instead of having the team just working together again like nothing happened.

I especially liked the scene where Calleigh suggested to Ryan that he was gambling again, and he was totally unconvincing when he said he wasn't. Partly because it was a good actor playing a character who was trying to be a bad actor. But also because of how clueless Calleigh and Eric were -- I mean, Ryan was silently screaming, "I'm in trouble and I can't come right out and ask you for help! Find out what's going on!" at both of them -- by being so unconvincing about not gambling again, and he actually told Eric he had secrets he couldn't talk about. If they had thought Ryan was a basically rotten person, or a really good person, they'd have noticed something wrong (wonder which opinion Ryan expected them to have?) and talked to Horatio about it. But they opted for "he tries to do the right thing but is deeply flawed" and did what they thought was supporting him -- not saying anything about how oddly Ryan was acting -- which inadvertently left him twisting in the wind. Revealed a lot about the group's dynamics in just a few moments, and without shoving it in our faces. By golly, I'm really starting to think the writers have gotten their mojo back!

I had to put my hands over my eyes when the guy was pulling Ryan's tooth...made me cringe I agree with the rest of you...Togo was great...he played his scenes very well in this episode...he sure has come a long way. I just don't see why Ryan didn't go to Horatio to begin with...I guess we wouldn't have had much of a show if he had though. I still have not seen Valera in the past two or three episodes...wonder what's up with that. I'm glad Horatio still has faith in Ryan...he has screwed up in the past...but H still stands by him...even when the others start doubting him (i.e. Calleigh asking him if he's gambling again)

Just saw it. Yep, kudos to Jonathan Togo. He was in top form in this one. Although I agree; he has been mentored by H, yet it seems as though he didn't bring this to H first. I think he could've saved himself a lot of grief had he done that. JMHO, I got the impression that Eric and Calleigh are becoming too absorbed in THEIR situation. I smiled when Ryan said to Eric "I've got secrets; don't tell anybody." I'm also glad they kept the torture stuff to a minimum. It didn't become gratuitous violence. Not on poor little Ryan. And of course, in the end, we have SUPER H TO THE RESCUE!! I said that out loud as Horatio was going up those steps, and hubby said "Well, I guess that's better than PREPARATION H!" All in all, one of their better epis. Note to writers: Is it possible to keep the gratuitous shacking up scenes to a minimum? Let's keep some things to the imagination, shall we? Although I think Ryan should take a vacation now. Or at least a stiff drink.

But gratuitous shacking up scenes that include certain men lacking shirts (and then some?) make Babs happy!
To say the least, I LOVED the beginning of the ep. To bits. And pieces. I swear my face was bright red while watching it.
Anyway, Togo was AWESOME. He's such a great actor, considering he's the least experienced of the bunch.
My favorite part (other than the lack of shirtage..and then some) was the "I got secrets!" part...made me literally laugh out loud.
The episode was painful to watch otherwise, not because it was bad, but because I felt so darn sorry for RyRy. Oh. One thing: And he said that Eric's place wasn't nice? What the heck do you call that sink..thing he was using? Okay, I understand if he's paying what's-his-face's debt, but still; You could do a bit better, RyRy.
Most of you haven't really touched on it, but Eric was very IN character--- as in, back to being, well, Eric before the bullet in the brain. Save for the Cal part, of course. But hell, this just proved that Ryan still feels like the loner of the pack; it's depressing. I want to go and give him a hug.
Oh. Now who is this "Natalia" person you guys speak of? Oh, right; the one who shows up, and then disappears off the face of the earth! Right! I remember now! Wow, though. Seriously, writers, STOP NEGLECTING THE CAST.
Okay, one other thing you guys haven't commented on, which gave me the chills, as well as the "OH GOD, NO"'s.
Ryan did the pose at the end of the episode. The Horatio pose. I sat there, staring, like "He's little mini-me; the protege!"
Seriously, think about it. You don't see Cal or Eric or Nat running around behind each other's backs about serious stuff like that! And there's Ryan, doing EXACTLY what Horatio would do! It scares me. It was a premonition of things to come, I say. While Cal and Eric may have seniority, I just don't think they have the knack for being in charge. I don't see them as the big bad boss guy/gal. Ryan, on the other hand, shares many qualities with their red-haired leader. It's terrifying. But also, maybe why Horatio chose him. Ryan takes initiative, and isn't afraid to bend the rules to get to the bottom of things.
My god, RyRy is an Horatio Mini-Me.
p.s. YAAAAY RICKY BOY IN TWO WEEKS!!!!!!

I did think about this later.
There's the medical side of the torture thing. Yes, I have enough of a medical background to screw me up for the rest of my life.
Okay. We know Ryan got punched in the face, had something around his throat, and probably had two or three teeth yanked out. Where were the cuts, swellings, and gashes? And it seems like he was talking normally. Hubby and I have had to treat assault victims who have had teeth knocked out. They'll be swollen up like a stomped-on toad frog (to quote my hillbilly husband), and they'll bleed from the mouth if they talk much within 24 hours. And Ryan sure seemed to have plenty of energy for what he'd been through the night before.
Yep. Two weeks to Rickypoo.
(Hey Babs. How about a SHIRTLESS RICK?)

*giggles madly*
Ryan's invincible, remember? ---just like Horatio! Gasp!
Remember in "And We're Offed"? He got a few hits to the face, and didn't even get a shiner!

Believe it or not, that sink thing is expensive, It's considered very chic.He indeed is doing very well. I've always said there was a special bond between the two. I think Ryan reminds Horatio of his younger self. They seem to have a lot of traits in common.Horatio may have even made a lot of the same mistakes along the way.
