First of all I am NOT saying that Michael Jackson is dead, although it has been reported several times that he is. TMZ reports he has died, Ryan Seacrest posted on his Twitter that MJ has passed away and says he's looking into other sources. He was rushed to an LA hospital today for cardiac arrest, the paramedics performed CPR. www.tmz.com/2009/06/25/michael-jackson-rushed-to-the-hospital/Some sources are saying he's only in a coma. (CNN, Fox.) www.cnn.com/2009/SHOWBIZ/Music/06/25/michael.jackson/index.htmlBut then like I said, it has been posted that he has died as well, by TMZ, Ryan Seacrest, and now the LA Times. twitter.com/RyanSeacrestwww.tmz.com/2009/06/25/michael-jackson-dies-death-dead-cardiac-arrest/www.latimes.com/UPDATE: CNN is now saying he's dead too. www.cnn.com/2009/SHOWBIZ/Music/06/25/michael.jackson/index.html More and more sources are saying he is. UPDATE again: Yup... he's gone. RIP Michael Jackson. Despite all his past problems he was still a very talented person and has millions of fans. Plus he's a father, son, brother and uncle. Please if you're going to come in here just to bash, just don't.

I only heard like an hour ago and I logged onto facebook and it was everywhere. He might have had his problems but he was still a person and a very talent one at that. I think it's awful that he died so young and all the people who are making jokes and laughing about his death should be ashamed of themselves.

I had just logged on to Facebook at work when it was posted that he was rushed to the hospital. I broke the silence in the office when I went OMG!!! Everybody asked what, I said Michael Jackson was rushed to the hospital, and everyone just about flew out of their chairs and flocked around my workstation. About 4 my time, it was on tmz.com that he died. I yelled out never mind the cardiac arrest, he's dead!! We all just about literally fell out of our chairs in shock.
With that being said, this death is a shocker amongst the world, along with the deaths of Ed McMahon and Farrah Fawcett. RIP to all 3 of these talented entertainment stars

Michael Jackson is just a few years younger than I am, so I grew up hearing hits by the Jackson Five, was in college when he went solo, and by the time he started getting eccentric I was old enough to have realized what a bizarre "childhood" he must have had, and wonder how I'd have turned out with that background. Interesting that one of his best friends was another child-star-turned-mature-artist, Elizabeth Taylor. Whatever anyone might think about his personal life, his talent and professionalism are beyond dispute. Michael Jackson didn't just create classic music and dance moves; he didn't just influence a whole generation of artists (younger folks might not notice it, but those of us who listened to music before and after MJ can hear him a lot in what's popular today); he reinvented the music video and broke the color barrier on MTV. Breaking that barrier in the lunch counters in the U.S. South took herds of activists, many arrests and much bloodshed; MJ did it just by being a genius. Not to mention that a whole generation of guys tried out that "Motown 25th Anniversary" toe spin in the bathroom, and if they were lucky, ended up perched on their tiptoes on top of the toilet lid.
