And you're right about Speed knowing his facts. I'm going with the theory that Ryan is just playing dumb to see what Walter's got -- it doesn't make sense that he'd suddenly become stupid about facts. And cougars are something that he'd definitely be aware of -- I'm not sure why, it just seems like a phenomenon that would catch his attention.

Those aren't rumors. Eric IS showing up as a guest for a few episodes.

Yeah, when did someone decide Mr. Meticulous was too hungry to finish a crime scene? They don't have to make someone look dumb to explain things. They could always do it as laying out the sequence of events for the DA or something. That would be plausible without having to make characters seem, well...out of character?
