Wow, I knew we were going to get hit here in Wisconsin, but I didn't realize most of the US was going to get whacked. The TV coverage is pretty amusing -- one station did a story on how even snow plows are getting stuck in the snow, complete with video of a completely stationary snow plow (my, isn't that exciting? ;D), and the reporter finished his spiel by reporting that he wouldn't be returning to the station as scheduled because their 4-wheel-drive SUV was....stuck. There's so much weather, they've got TWO meteorologists on camera! And of course there are the traditional "for those of you who have lost power, it should be repaired in X hours" reports. Um, folks, the people without power are probably not watching TV. ;D So, what's the weather like in your neck of the woods?

On our news a few days ago they did a story about how down in Texas they got a few sprinkles of snow and it made practically the whole place shut down. xD I don't know why it amuses me so much that they just don't know what to do with it, but I find it funny. Here we had a bit of snow this past week, but it didn't last long. We were supposed to get a storm last night, and a lot of Northern Ontario got a lot of snow, but down here all it did was rain. Right now it's just storming really bad, but it's rain coming down and not snow. Now they're saying it'll start snowing by tonight. xD I hope it doesn't, but my brother can't wait for the snow. The rest of Canada apparently is getting a lot of snow though. On our news channel they were saying that it seems to snow in every place besides Ontario and then slowly closes in on us too.

Well, apparently we had 17.5 inches of snow at 10 am and it kept snowing for several more hours. Now the wind is picking up -- I'm on the ground floor and the snow drift is higher than my window sill, which is kind of nifty. Tomorrow should be clear and sunny, yay! *carefully ignoring the forecast of -25F windchill* This being a college town, the students tried to set a world record for the biggest snowball fight. If you spot a brown building with white pillars in the first video, that's where my office is. Oh, the last video has naughty language and nothing particularly interesting in it, so you won't miss anything by skipping it. Here's the link: www.thedailypage.com/daily/article.php?article=27654 (It's a local newspaper, a safe site.) *is glad she doesn't live in Buffalo where they're expecting three feet of the white stuff* *no offense meant, Buffalo!*

Everything here practically shuts down for a dusting. Last week there was about an inch of snow, and they shut down I-24 from Murfreesboro to Nashville Why they would shut down an interstate that's going into a major city like that, I'll never know lol. The weather is being funny here. Last night the low temp got down to 15 degrees , but Monday our high is going to be in the 60's Gotta love Tennessee weather Loved both of ya'lls snow pictures!!! I can honestly say the most snow I've ever seen in like person or whatever is 4 inches My dad is planning a vacation to Colorado though so I have a feeling i'll see some there.

I see you guys are only JUST getting the cold weather. It's been hovering below freezing here since the beginning of the month. We've even had a tiny bit of snow. Which is bizarre because usually the beginning of December it's still very mild. Like 10 C or so... We usually only have a few days below 0 each year and thats generally in January or February. But I'm not complaining. I loooooooove cold weather. xD

We had a nice break for a couple of days, it got warm enough for salt to work on the roads (above 15F) -- in fact, it got above freezing! And then plunged down to zero F again, so everything's covered in super-slick ice. gregrox, you're welcome to it, we're already tired of this game! Only five or six months more of it before spring.... Ah well, time to show off my sweater collection! Or better yet, time to move to Miami!
