Nice to see Eric again, even though he isn't officially part of the team! And nice to hear that H has been keeping in touch with him instead of giving him too much space. I see they're still making unnecessary fusses about things though -- "poor guy, his condition's going to be all over the 10 o'clock news"? Why can't they just say he's cleared of rape because his DNA didn't match the semen? Ah, well, I'm nit-picking. Here's hoping I can stay awake til the end, I'm short of sleep today.

HE HAD IT. HE HAD IT. HE HAD HAIR.
*dies of joy*
BEST BIRTHDAY PRESENT EVER, CBS! <3
It was nice seeing them all get their exercise. Finally an ep that didn't focus around Jesse and Walter so much.
How can Eric afford Puerto Rico? HE WAS LIVING IN A MOTEL!
Anyway, good ep. Glad they Eric was the old Eric, and not the sappy wuss he's been over the past few seasons. This episode could have been disastrous, but because Eric was the old Eric, it worked.

I was typing a pretty long post then my computer screwed up, so I'm just gonna say I liked it. Don't miss Eric a ton during the show but I was glad to see him anyway. I liked Cal and Ryan running after the guy right at the beginning of the show, and the case was kinda weird and different. xD Oh and there seemed to be quite a lot of Frank! ;D
Oooh and yea, I didn't really like the fact that Eric was working for the defense only because it seemed like an exact copy of when Ryan did it in season 6 because he was fired. The only difference was that no one seemed very pissed off at Eric, like they all were at Ryan. *coughgrrrcough*

If Eric doesn't work for the defense, where would he get a job that uses his training? There aren't too many freelance police departments out there....I suppose he could be a P.I. but he never seemed into the detective work, more about interpreting the evidence once the detectives found it. I think they were more annoyed with Ryan because he worked for a muckraker -- not a fair journalist, for one that would rather misreport a story to get people excited and bump the ratings and thinks the truth is "better" if you "spice it up." The CSIs don't mind being reported if it's a fair report, and Horatio trusted Eric to file a fair report even if H didn't agree with Eric's interpretation. Ryan let the sleazy reporter lead him astray. IMO. YMMV.

It was a good episode, I liked it. Good seeing H actually do stuff again, and not just standing there with his hand on his hip staring off in lala land. The only thing I questioned.. which I'm probably going to sound really stupid when I ask this, but what's the point of being a forensic consultant for the prosecution when they have a whole team of CSI's? My little slow brain will probably understand it if someone explains it

Did I mention he had hair? <333333
Yeah, a bit of story recycling. At least he didn't want to be on the defense! You could see how much he missed being on the team. Maybe if Adam grows a brain (oh, did I just say that?), he'll come back.
The running scene was awesome. Even H was running!!!!!
Poor Frank. He was SOOOOO disturbed by the fact that the guy "didn't have the equipment"
And then Nat and Eric trying to explain that to the prosecutor omgggg I died laughing.

Ryan had a job like Eric's after the reporter job(two seperate jobs) Ryan also worked for the defense. They were annoyed because they were always annoyed with him.

Some day, you'll all be as old as I am and you'll forget entire story arcs too.... When Ryan left, weren't they annoyed at anything he did because he had to leave because he messed up with the gambling? Oh, wait, Eric messed up with protecting his father. Hmm, guess it is a double standard. Bad CSIs, Bad! The only thing I questioned.. what's the point of being a forensic consultant for the prosecution when they have a whole team of CSI's? The prosecution would bring in a forensic expert when there's a particular bit of evidence or method of analysis that's crucial to the case. The team of CSIs have to know something about a lot of things, but the expert has concentrated on one thing and knows more about it (and probably knows squat about most of the other techniques). And since the expert was brought in from outside, s/he has spent years forming his/her opinions and becoming an expert without caring at all about this particular case, and has no reason to care now how it comes out (other than getting paid for giving testimony, and s/he didn't have to take the gig) -- so in theory, the expert is less biased. Of course, both sides shop around to find an expert who's already biased toward their theories, so you end up with dueling experts. Eric was an expert for the defense, so he had to argue against a whole team of experts who he knew were extremely competent -- no wonder he was nervous! Hope that helps.
