Gmar chatimah tovah! I hope everyone's candles have kept burning all week, at only one end. If you're running behind (like me), y'all can still join in at sundown tonight -- here are two blessings to go with the eight candles: 1. Ba-ruch A-tah Ado-nai E-lo-he-nu Me-lech ha-olam a-sher ki-de-sha-nu be-mitz-vo-tav ve-tzi-va-nu le-had-lik ner Cha-nu-kah. 2. Ba-ruch A-tah Ado-nai E-lo-he-nu Me-lech Ha-olam she-a-sa ni-sim la-avo-te-nu ba-ya-mim ha-hem bi-zman ha-zeh. Which translates as: 1. Blessed are You, Lord our G-d, King of the universe, who has sanctified us with His commandments, and commanded us to kindle the Chanukah light. 2. Blessed are You, Lord our G-d, King of the universe, who performed miracles for our forefathers in those days, at this time. And for anyone who's tired of dreidels, try this ditty: www.tabletmag.com/arts-and-culture/music/21886/eight-days-of-hanukkah-video/ It's actually pretty catchy, considering it was co-authored by a Suit from Utah. ;D My apologies for the bits I've gotten wrong -- please correct me, and accept a heathen's good intentions. Mazeltov!
