Kind of boring to show up to chat and find no one there, so let's find out who's likely to show up when. We're scattered all over the planet, so it would be useful to express times using Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) as well as your local time; saves everyone from having to do gobs of arithmetic to figure out if times match. Here's a link to a Time Zone Converter: www.timezoneconverter.com/cgi-bin/tzc.tzcI'm likely to be working on figuring out how to add stuff (like smileys) to PTC for a while instead of chatting, but once that's slowed down, my window of "chatpportunity" will usually be somewhere between 4 and 8 pm Central Time (US) -- that's 22:00 to 02:00 GMT, using 24-hour time (or 10 pm to 2 am). I probably wouldn't be there the whole four hours, just an hour or two during that range. Who's next? ;D

Weeeeeeeeeell. GMT is actually my time zone, but I work shifts. I'm nearly always around after about 10.30pm on a 'normal' day. But other times I can be around pretty much anytime. Sometimes the morning... or the afternoon.... So I'm REALLY helpful! Sarry xx

If I know you're having a chat, I'd probably be there midnight-3 a.m. GMT on Fridays and Saturdays. Sundays it would be possibly noon-2 pm GMT. Hope that helps. Thanks, Mirium. (Sorry, Great High Muckety Muck! ;D)

I have no idea how to use that GMT converter thing, or what it even means. But anyways, I'm usually around from 4:30 pm - whenever, Eastern time. Sometimes I get preoccupied with other things and won't be on at all, but not very often. I'm also almost never on, on Saturday or Sundays.
But yea pretty much I'll be online all the time, except weekends. ;D

The time zone converter lets you figure out what time it would be in the Greenwich time zone (which is traditionally the "zero" reference point for figuring out times around the planet). At the top, click the ""use the following date/time" button. Then enter the time (your local time) when you would probably be in the chat room. Pick your country and a city in time zone in the top menu box (in your case, "America/New_York" and leave the second one alone (it's set to GMT by default). Click the "Convert Time Now" button.
For 4:30 pm, it gives: "04:30:00 p.m. Tuesday January 6, 2009 in America/New_York converts to 09:30:00 p.m. Tuesday January 6, 2009 in GMT" or 21:30 if you're using 24-hour time (like military time).
Hope that helps!
