well the ninnies at the eye place didn't do my glasses right. i wore them to work and found out what the problem was. my computer section of the progressive lens was at the bottom and i had to hold the glasses up to see. so i took them back last tuesday and will get them back on the 19th. so i'm wearing the over the counter reading glasses and can't wait until they are done.. oh well!!!!!
hey where are you?? are you okay i'm getting worried about you..
have you had snow yet. it has been real cold here but nice now. it was 39 degrees one night. about 75 degrees now. well i guess it's time for me to go to sleep as i need to get up rather early and fill in my application for ss. i can start collecting in january. i plan to put every check on my one large credit card. i am on a kick to pay off debts so when i quit working some day i won't have a bunch of bills.. yeck i hate bills. but i don;t plan to quit for a long time as i'm a believer that you start dying when you don't have anything to do..
oh well i'm going to get as baby H is sitting here fussing at me. it must be snack time for them. i'm down to 194 now. lordy this is slow.. later kiddo jeanne

Sorry about that, I didn't mean to worry you! I've been so swamped at work that I come home feeling like a wet noodle. But our Busy Season is almost over, and when folks screw up and dump the problem in my lap to solve, I've started dumping it right back. Here's hoping they're not stupid enough to complain to TPTB, because this time I won't cover their butts. On second thought, I hope they do. No snow here yet, although the S Word is on everyone's mind -- we're expected to get some either this week or next, depending on which forecast you listen to. We had a glorious week of warm weather, but it's back to normal now -- below freezing at night, 40s in the afternoon. My tomato plants are about done, so I'm planning to trash 'em next weekend and put the pots outside so the freeze will kill all the nasty blight germs. They'll be ready to use again in the spring! That's about all the excitement here, and I'm ready to go to bed, so I'll sign off and hope to get back here in a few days. Hope you have your glasses fixed soon!

wow the site quit letting me log in. i finally figured out what my password and user and logged in just now. that is why you saw me lurking and not posting for a few days. LOL
i heard that the boys are skiing somewhere in western europe. austria last i heard. jake skis and shelly watches. boring!!!!! but i guess you have to keep your mate happy..
my glasses are still messed up and i planned to take them in today but i have been eating like a pig. everything in sight and am feeling rough.
i am puppy sitting and neal is a pain in the butt. he keeps attacking the cats and making me nuts. i've had them a week and have 2 more weeks to go. junior is better and diamond is having territory problems. it's funny sometimes. hey everyone has figured out how to get up on the bed at night. i am sleeping with 3 dogs and 3 cats. thank goodness they are all smallish. heee heeee
i have to go to charles the 2 house and look for some paper to see how many boxes he mailed to portio rica. he recd 4 but thinks there should be more. i also play with his cats and make sure they have food and water. we'd bring them over too but one has feline aids and we don't want to expose my babies..
i also have 3 big pots i planted pointsetas and some little white flowers in and didn't drill holes in the bottom of the pots. one bush looks real sick and i am going to drill holes today and hope i don't kill the plants in the meantime...
gotta go. i'm glad you are okay. as i worry..jeanne

I suspect that Shelly finds pleasure in watching Jake that you don't share, furry. Boring for you, fun for him... I caught The Cold That's Going Around, so I'm a little slow -- good thing we had days off for Thanksgiving so I could stay in bed! And that's where I think I'll head now. *kachoo!*

IT'S SNO-O-O-OWING! Sorry, it's our first snow of the season and I got excited. We've got about 4 inches on the ground and it's pretty much over. The visiting dog does not sound fun -- but won't you enjoy the peace when he leaves? You ever tried Oven-Fried Chicken? It tastes pretty close, but has WAY fewer calories. Here's a recipe with an oatmeal coating that got a lot of positive votes: www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/robin-miller/oven-baked-fried-chicken-recipe/index.html And one that uses bread crumbs (you wouldn't have to make 8 pieces) www.cooks.com/rec/view/0,1839,149166-229197,00.html Or if you like bread crumb coating but are tired of chicken breasts: www.cooks.com/rec/doc/0,1839,148188-236201,00.html Or one that uses a stuffing mix for the coating: www.cooks.com/rec/doc/0,1839,149188-238200,00.html They're all really simple and pretty similar, so you could probably figure out how to do your regular fried chicken recipe in the oven instead. I'm getting together with an old neighbor later today, which should be fun. I helped her with her resume (she got the job) so she wants to feed me as thanks. It will be nice to hear about how the job's going. Hope all your animals start behaving themselves!

wow both of us hit the net on the same day. snow i almost wish we would see some. hehehe. it will be 40 as the low tonight but the high tomorrow if i can believe the tv will only be in the 50's then frost the next 3 or 4 nights. but no snow. sigh.
so i have to figure out what to do avout the xmas flowers. i can't bring them in as i still have 3 cats and 3 dogs and they love to tear plans up. also the pots are real heavy. i think i'll drag them up to the wall and cover the whole mess up with a couple sheets and maybe a quilt.
i accidently let baby H as i still call him out thurs nite and he went up a tree across the fence and was scared to come down, i was out at midnight in my pjs and it was in the 40's trying to get him down. i finally gave up and could hear him crying all night. but he wouldn't come down. i got dressed friday at dawn and found him on the neighbor's roof. and the neighbor was on her way to work. i think i scared her a bit. i finally got H to get back on the tree at a low joint of this huge oak tree and i could touch his paw and finally he jumped down. i grabbed him and stuffed him in the can and drove home with his paws on my lap and he had his head on my lap. i let hm in the house and figured he wouldn't want to go out again for a few days. i'll bet he slept all day while i worked cause as soon as i got hime the stinker wanted out again. so i hold him when i let the dogs out.
i hope charles gets home to get his dogs wed or thurs so i can clean up the messes. i clean up the poop and pee but i need to mop the floor again.
i used to bake shake and bake chicken all the time but i am going to try the oatmeal recipe. sounds good. i am baking a very small beef rib roast right now. i can't wait until it's done. then i'll have a slice and salad.
i hope you enjoyed your meal out. i have to take a friend to lunch as i forgot her birthday last week. yikes!!!!
well i have to go s that roast smells way too good.. love ya kiddo..jeanne

Maybe baby H has a nemesis out there that he's trying to thwart! Apparently cats who are stuck in trees aren't just being annoying -- their claws are designed so up is easy, but getting down -- not so much. (Amazing what scientists bother to study.) You'd think they could just back down, but their claws won't let go of the tree very well when they're going that way.
We got about 4 inches of snow, and then the temperature took a dive -- wind chills have been below zero, and the actual temperature is supposed to go below zero next week. I feel really sorry for the college freshmen who came from warm places! (This is a college town.)
Seeing my former neighbor was a nice change. She tends to be kind of unrealistic, so I nod and say "mmm....uh huh. Oh" a lot. She's a bit miffed that they haven't given her much work yet, but she got hired just before Thanksgiving and wouldn't work that week except Monday and she's new, so what did she expect? We had a pleasant chat about other things, though.
I might not log in again until early next week -- I'm taking a civil service exam this weekend and still have that cold, so I'll be studying up and sleeping as much as I can. (I don't want you to worry why I'm not here.) But I'll be back soon!

Took the test, think I did reasonably well on it. We got 9" of snow on Saturday and it's -5 degrees out right now; we're supposed to get another 3 or 4" of snow in a couple days. I think winter has started. Are you sure you want me to send some of this to you?
