On the bright side, if you hate to shave your legs, just don't dry them thoroughly after your shower -- put on slacks and go out soon, and you'll come back with nice, smooth gams. Just a little humidity, and the friction is enough to snap off the nubsicles. Don't ask me how I know... ;D Too funny Mirium...the high here in TN is 22 for today...the low tonight is supposed to be 3 degrees with a wind chill of -6...looks like we are going to break our previous record for Jan 15th set back in 1886 of 8 degrees.

We're currently at -2F, wind chill of -18F -- and the sun hasn't set yet. :couchhiding: BUT it isn't snowing.

Sucks to be on flight 1549, who just crashed into the Hudson River in Manhattan. Everyone is fine, but to be in the river on the coldest day of the year for them *Shakes head* www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,480078,00.html

It's -14 degrees F in MN. Yeesh! Boogers freeze in your nose at that temperature! Don't ask me how I know. Supposed to be down around 14F in North Carolina. (Normal is about 42F) Hope they got the heaters going at the gun range. Hubby and I want to go shooting Saturday, and it's kind of hard to aim that rifle when you're shivering. It is. I went shooting when it was about 40 something degrees a while back and I couldn't aim the dang gun! LOL! I'm just a wimp when it comes to the cold ;D

In water that cold, you might survive for about 3 minutes tops. When the Titanic sank, the cause of death wasn't so much drowning as hypothermia. You might last three minutes in water that cold. I remember diving into water that was pretty cold, and my body just sort of seized up. It wasn't anywhere near freezing, either. Incidentally, I'm still waiting to find out whether one of hubby's co-workers was on that flight. She's been going back and forth between NY and Charlotte, working on bank mergers. I guess we'll find out.

Maybe because it doesn't usually get that cold in Tennessee, so the heating systems in the schools aren't capable of keeping the schools warm enough if the temperature gets too low? If it would be so cold in the classrooms that students would be freezing their tushies off, it would make sense to cancel school.

We can go jump in the river or something. *wonders if I'm going to get food thrown at me when I say next Tuesday and Wednesday it's going to be in the 60s :couchhiding: * CC

I'm sitting here trying to figure out why most of our schools in middle tennessee were closed cause it was supposed to be cold If it gets too cold, your boogers freeze. If they freeze, it blocks your airway. Now there's some places in Alaska where they have to cover their nose and mouths. Try to breathe out there, and your lungs freeze. Your lungs freeze, you're screwed CC :pillowfight: with Katie
