I'm sitting here trying to figure out why most of our schools in middle tennessee were closed cause it was supposed to be cold If it gets too cold, your boogers freeze. If they freeze, it blocks your airway. Now there's some places in Alaska where they have to cover their nose and mouths. Try to breathe out there, and your lungs freeze. Your lungs freeze, you're screwed CC with Katie I think my dad was talking to a guy he flies with and he lives in Colorado and he said something about kids not dressing properly for school when it's cold, so they have to cancel... whether or not that's true.. I have no idea. with Dawn

Hey Katie... I was told that alot of them closed because they can't heat them properly...and the fact that some of the schools were having water pipes burst. I know my kids were glad to be out...they get a four day weekend...to bad work doesn't go with school schedules

Supposed to get down to 10F tonight or tomorrow morning. I'm wrapping the blanket around me while I play on the pooter. Hubby wants to go to the firing range tomorrow, but I'm not sure how cold it'll be. Kind of hard to aim when I'm shivering.

T-shirt with a sweatshirt weather day today! But then again I drive with the A/C full blast in 40 degree weather :screwloose: Right now is one of those moments I'm happy to be living in the southwest. Thank heaven for western ridges!!! But if it's any consolation theres talks of a snow storm hitting here next Friday. I'm sure some of you *coughKatiecough* is going to wish that it dumps 6 feet of snow on me CC :pillowfight: with Katie

It's better knowing that was the reason instead of just thinking they closed the schools cause it was too cold, lol. One downsider to be homeschooled.... we didn't get out . Dawwwwwwwwwwwwn I wish 6 feet of snow to be dumped on ya'll . Mwhahahaha ;D :pillowfight: with Dawn

Dawwwwwwwwwwwwn I wish 6 feet of snow to be dumped on ya'll . Mwhahahaha ;D Would 6 feet of snow dumped on me do the trick? We're well on schedule here to get that much this winter -- 54 inches so far, compared to a normal of 14.2 inches and last year's 27.9 inches by this date (and we set a record of 101 inches total last year). Sheesh, our usual total snowfall for THE WHOLE SEASON is only 45 inches, and we have 3 or 4 months to go! I'VE GOT BLISTERS ON MY FINGERS -- FROM SHOVELING SNOW! But it's a balmy 24 F, so I'm .

Aw heck. We haven't had a good snowstorm since 2004. I'd sure like it if you could share the wealth up there, Mirium!

We've got an nice little "starter snowstorm" going on right now, jaglady -- just a couple of inches, nice and fluffy. I've convinced the neighbors to all point their fans in your direction and turn 'em on "high"..... :couchhiding:
