Chapter 3
“Where’s Matt?” Katie asked after Hawkes and Kelly came back downstairs.
“Uh, I’m not quite sure. I came down to see if he was with you guys.” Hawkes told her.
“You’ve got to be kidding me. You lost him?!”
“I didn’t know I was supposed to watch him….”
“Well why do you think we sent you inside.”
Before Hawkes had a chance to argue, all the lights went out. “Ok, this is too creepy.” Adri said grabbing the person who was standing next to her.
“Who’s grabbing my arm?” Eric asked.
“Sorry Eric.” Adri said. “I thought you were Greg. After I grabbed it I realized it wasn’t him, because he doesn’t have big muscles like you.”
“Then why are you still holding onto my arm?”
“Why do you think… I’m scared out my freakin mind you idiot!!!!!!” she yelled.
"So we rely on the cops and Matt is already missing within 30 minutes of being here and now the electricity is out. Screw this. This is what you get for leaving the job to the cops. About time for the fire department to take charge." Dawn said while feeling around for any kind of object. Luckily she found a bat.
“Shhhh.” Caitlin said. “You guys here that?”
Everyone got quiet and listened carefully. It was the sound of footsteps getting closer and closer. Adri let out a squeal and shoved the person in front of her closer to where the footsteps were coming from. The person in front of her was Flack. When Flack stumbled forward, since she couldn’t see anything, she thought it was the mysterious footsteps and swung the bat. It hit Flack right in the shin.
“OWWW WHAT THE HECK?! WHO HIT ME?!” Flack yelled.
“Flack?” Dawn asked.
“YEAH!”
“Sorry.” She said as innocently as she could without laughing.
“Um yeah Flack, we’d kind of appreciate if you would shut up so we can hear where the footsteps are.” Adri said.
“Well you didn’t get hit in the shin with a bat!!”
“Shhhhhhh.” Niki shushed him. “Quit whining you big baby.”
Everyone fell silent once again and listened closely. None of them could here the steps.
“You think whatever it was went away?” Caitlin asked.
There was a sound of laughter. “Matt?” Katie asked, recognizing the laugh. He just laughed even harder.
“Dude, you ok?” Flack asked, looking in the direction the laugh was coming from.
“He sounds… possessed.” Ryan added.
“Honey please tell me you aren’t possessed.”
“No I’m not possessed. Man ya’ll wig out to easily.”
“Well you know Matt, we are in a freakin’ haunted house, so of course we will wig out when we thought you were missing and you come back acting all different.” Caitie told him.
“Well sorry. I was just trying to have some fun.”
“Whatever. Matt get your butt over here so I have something to hide behind.” Katie said.
“Alright maybe we need to split up, some of us to go outside to find a generator, and some of us to go to the car to get all the stuff in.” Hawkes suggested.
“That’s a good idea. Matt, Katie, me, Dawn, Ryan, Caitie, Niki, and Flack will find the generator. Hawkes, Kelly, Caitlin, Eric, Sierra, Billy, Adri, and Greg you guys go get the stuff in.”
“Alrighty.” Katie said.
Matt and Katie were kind of trailing behind the rest of their group just kind of talking. Caitie had a death grip on Ryan’s arm because it was so creepy outside. “Hey what’s that?” Niki asked pointing to a generator sitting inside outside the tool shed.
“It’s a generator.” Johnny said and stopped a few yards from the shed. Of course when he stopped, the rest of them did too.
“What’s wrong?” his wife asked.
“I know what’s wrong. He’s scared.” Niki told her. “He probably has seen plenty of scary movies and knows there’s always something in the tool shed.”
“Well Niki why don’t you go get the generator if your not so scared.” Johhny replied.
“Uh, because that thing probably ways way more than me so I wouldn’t be able to get it over here.”
“Fine I’ll go.” Ryan said, shocking the entire group. Ryan took a deep breath and slowly started towards the shed. When he was now only a couple of feet away, the door on the shed flung open. Ryan jumped back a little. He turned his head to the group who were not moving a muscle. He took in another deep breath and leaned down to start pulling the generator back. When he did, some kind of bird flew out of the shed, attacking Ryan on the way out. Ryan started screaming and swatting at the bird trying to get away from him. Niki and Dawn were literally on the ground laughing after they saw the look on Ryan’s face when the bird flew away.
“You alright man?” Flack asked, trying to contain his laughter.
Ryan smirked at him and brought the generator over. “What are you looking at?” he asked Niki.
“Oh nothing. Well maybe something. Something like that bird crap on the back of your shirt.” She replied giggling a little.
Ryan looked over his shoulder, on his back, and noticed what Niki was talking about. “Crap.” He mumbled under his breath.
“Real nice choice of words Ryan.” Caitie joked.
“Alright guys let’s just get this thing back to the house.” Johnny said, trying his best to come to Ryan’s defense.
“Wait a second, where’s Matt and Katie?” Flack asked looking around. The rest of them looked around as well but didn’t see them.
“Matt, Katie?!?!” Dawn yelled.
“Shhhhhh!” Caitie said. “The ghosts might come after us.”
“Maybe Matt is trying to pull another fast one on us.” Ryan said.
“Yeah, that’s probably it. Let’s just go back to the house, I mean it’s not like they are alone and they do know their way back to the cabin…” Niki told them.
“And they are probably two of the most outdoors kind of people here.” Dawn added.
Johnny shrugged, “I guess it’s settled. Let’s get this thing back to the cabin.”
“Why couldn’t we just stay at the cabin? It’s too freaky out here.” Adri said while her Kelly, Caitlin, and Sierra stood back as the guys unloaded the bags.
“Well you could’ve stayed but then you would’ve been in there alone.” Greg told her.
“Are you guys just going to stand there paranoid and watch as we unload your stuff? Or are you actually going to help us?” Billy asked the girls.
“Fine.” Adri said and rolled her eyes. Each girl grabbed a bag.
After they got everything they closed the trunks on the vehicles and were about to head back to the cabin until they were stopped in their tracks by a coyote.
“Uhm, yeah, what the heck do we do now?!” Adri whispered loudly.
“Shoot it!” Sierra yelled.
Eric was the first to draw his gone and shoot at the animal. Much to everyone’s surprise the coyote didn’t die. It just started growling even more as it inched closer and closer.
“Keep shooting!” Sierra yelled.
Eric then fired off two more shots, but the coyote still kept inching closer and closer.
“OH MY GOSH GIVE ME THAT THING!” Sierra screamed and grabbed the gun from Eric and kept shooting until there were no more bullets in the magazine. They watched as the coyote fell to it’s side, it was finally dead. Everyone let out a giant sigh of relief.
“Aw I kind of feel sorry for it.” Adri said looking at the animal.
“Well it was either we die, or it.” Greg told his girlfriend.
“I know I know, let’s just get back inside before another one comes.”
They walked back to the cabin and noticed the generator worked, and that they now have electricity.
“Yes! My stuff!” Ryan yelled as he grabbed his bag out of Eric’s grip, causing Eric to drop everything out.
“What is your problem Wolfe?!”
“I have bird crap on me.” Ryan said and then disappeared into a room to change.
He was only in there for a minute, until they heard him yelling. Eric and Johnny quickly ran back to the room he was in and opened the door. There was blood on the walls that said ‘Your Next’.
“We have to get out of this crazy place.” Ryan said pushing through Johnny and Eric who were still standing there, completely shocked to what they were seeing. Johnny quickly snapped out of it and followed Ryan, grabbing Eric and pulling him with him.
“What was it?” Kelly asked, curious to what was going on.
“Blood on the freakin’ wall saying your next!” Ryan yelled.
“What?!” Caitlin panicked.
“Wait a second, where’s Katie and Matt?” Billy asked.
“Uh, they kind of disappeared. We figured it was just Matt wanting to pull another one on us.” Niki told her.
“Or they could really be missing now.” Hawkes said.
Silence fell over the group.
“Boo.” Niki said, causing everyone to turn their heads and look at her. “Sorry it got too quiet and I had to break the silence.”
“YA’LL WHAT IS THAT?!?!?!” Sierra yelled pointing to the top of the fireplace mantel.
Everyone’s eyes got wide as they saw Matt and Katie’s name written in blood, with Matt’s shirt and Katie’s shirt hanging beside it, torn, bloody, and cut up.
“Oh my gosh.” Dawn said cupping her mouth with her hands.
“….. I don’t think he’s trying to pull a fast one on us anymore.” Niki said, still staring at the scene in front of them.
“We’re getting out of here.” Sierra said, grabbing Billy by the shirt and dragging him out the door. When they stepped out on the porch, they stopped and saw about 5 coyotes circling the one she shot earlier. “Nooo.” She cried and grabbed Billy by the shirt again and dragged him back inside. “Maybe not.” She said to the group.
“What do we do now?” Kelly asked.
Everyone looked at Johnny. “What?”
“You’re the one who brought us here…. What’s the next plan Einstein?” Flack asked.
“I, I uhm, I honestly don’t know.”

Oh yes, putting the fire department in charge was a better move XD XD XD
I love the part where the bird attacks Ryan. If I really would have been there in reality, I would've been rolling on the ground laughing my ass off. And the reaction Johnny gave about "I don't know" would be typical of him.

Okay first off, I think that bird scared Ryan AND the blood on the wall so doesn't that technically mean I won the bet... just thought I'd throw that out there..
I love how I seem pretty calm write now! It's alll goood!! And Ryan getting attacked by a bird I woulda died from laughter! No joke!! Oh and I looove how when it fell silent I had to say "Boo!" That would totally be something I do!!
Okay it's starting to get creepy now! I wonder who's gonna get it next?!?! Update soon!!

Oh no...now Katie and Matt are missing and their shirts are torn and bloody.  I hope everyone gets out safe...the coyotes don't seem to want to let them be either...getting very scary...more soon. |
