Chapter 4
“You better say something Johnny before I start running out of here screaming!” Sierra yelled at him.
“You all know as well as I do Katie and Matt love pulling pranks on people.” Johnny tried saying, but was getting evil looks from everyone.
“Your just trying to save yourself from us killing you for bringing us here!!!”
“Calm down Sierra, everything is going to be just fine.”
“CALM?! Two people are missing and their bloody shirts are hanging right in front of us and you want me to be calm?!”
“Dude she’s right.” Adri said, agreeing with Sierra.
“Why is everyone ganging up on me??” Johnny asked innocently.
Adri slapped him across the back of his head. “You’re the one who brought us here idiot!”
“Well I don’t know about ya’ll but ….” Before Sierra could finish her sentence there was a loud thump coming from upstairs. Everyone jerked their heads around to the direction of the staircase and watched as a body rolled down each step.
The entire group let out shrilling screams and took off out the door. They all forgot about the coyotes, which thankfully had left. Sierra and Adri jumped in a vehicle had quickly sped away. Dawn, Kelly, and Greg took off in one direction in the woods. Caitlin, Ryan, Billy, Flack, and Hawkes took off in another. Johnny was scrambling as fast as he could, thinking someone was with him, but unfortunately there wasn’t. Niki and Eric took off in another different direction.
“What the heck?!” Caitie yelled as she noticed she was the only one that hadn’t taken off. She looked around, trying to determine which way she should head. Or if she should just stay there and wait for someone to get back. “Who am I kidding.” Caitie mumbled to herself, and took off in the direction she thought she saw Ryan run.
--------------------
Sierra and Adri were flying down the drive. “You think we should go back and try to get everyone else?” Sierra asked.
“I don’t know, right now I just want to get the crap outta here!”
“Me too.” Sierra said and sped up even more.
All of a sudden a person ran across the road, wearing a black robe. Sierra and Adri both screamed as Sierra slammed on the brakes to avoid hitting the person. When Sierra and Adri came to a stop, they opened their eyes and saw that the figure was no longer standing there. The engine shut off and Sierra tried starting it back up.
“You’ve got to be kidding me!!” Sierra yelled, pounding her hands on the steering wheel, when she realized the car was starting back up.
“Please tell me that your making it do that.” Adri said.
“Afraid not.”
Adri looked back, and the cabin was no longer in site. If they walked back it’d be a long, scary walk. “Should we walk back, or walk forward to like the road and maybe someone will be driving by and help us?” Adri asked.
“Well both ways are dangerous.”
“I know, that’s why I’m asking you.”
Sierra hopped out of the car, as well did Adri. They stared at the dark path in front of them, and the dark path behind them. “Why did we let Johnny get us to do this?” Sierra cried.
---------------------
“Okay Johnny, there is no such things as ghosts.” Johnny kept mumbling over and over again to himself.
The sound of someone stepping on sticks came from behind Johnny. He quickly came to a stop and looked behind him. When he didn’t hear it anymore he continued walking. When he started back up, so did the sound of someone stepping on sticks. Every time Johnny stopped, so did the noise. Johnny finally decided to break out into a small run. He saw a little light shining through the trees, so he figured he’d head in the direction.
He finally made it out of the woods and noticed he was by the lake. He took a big gulp, remembering the story he told the rest of the group. This was the place the little boy was last seen.
Johnny heard someone running towards him to he knelt down trying to make himself a little less visible. Before he knew it, he saw a figure standing in front of him. He stood up and before he knew it, he was being whacked in the head with a stick.
----------------------
“Dawn, where are we going?” Kelly asked.
“I don’t know I just want to get out of this place.”
“Great, so you don’t know where you’re leading us to? What if you’re leading us into the ultimate death trap. Like the family abducts us and drops us into a pit full of angry coyotes waiting to eat us.”
“Greg…” Dawn said, while stopping.
“Yeah?”
“Shut up.” She said and started walking again.
“Well excuse me for being concerned with my life. We should’ve been smart like Sierra and Adri and jumped in a car.”
“Well go ahead and turn back to go get one.”
“No way! Not by myself!”
“Chicken.” Kelly mumbled.
“I don’t see you doing anything.”
“Well I’m smart, and you can go ahead and call me a chicken, cause right now I don’t mind admitting that I am one.”
“Well alright then Lee Stroud, why don’t you lead the way?” Dawn asked.
“Fine then!” Greg said stepping in front of Dawn. “We’ll go this way.” Greg said turning right.
“Oh lord we’re doomed.” Dawn said under her breath.
“I heard that!” Greg said.
---------------------
“Eric do you have any idea where we’re going??” Niki asked, obviously annoyed.
“What do you think?”
“I think you may be all beauty but have no brains.”
Eric smirked at her. “How about we just follow that little light, maybe it’s a light on the cabin or something.”
“Nu uh! There is no way I’m walking into the light!”
“Niki you won’t be walking into the light, you’ll be following it.”
“Same thing!”
“No it’s not.”
“It’s close enough! And I’m not ready to die!”
“Well it’s either, trust me and come with me, or you die standing here.”
Niki pouted. “Fine, but if I die and you don’t, I’ll haunt you for the rest of your life!”
“Whatever.” Eric said and started walking. Niki hesitantly followed.
-------------------
Caitlin, Ryan, Billy, Flack, and Hawkes were sitting on a fallen tree, trying to figure out what to do. Ryan was pacing back and forth, flipping out over every little sound. “Dude take a chill pill.” Flack told him.
“No way.”
“Look guys, maybe we should head back to the cabin.” Caitlin suggested.
“No way.” Ryan said again.
“So do we just keep walking until we hopefully run into someone?” she asked.
“No way.”
“Alright then, how about we start screaming, calling all the ghosts to come have a party with us!” she sarcastically said.
“No way!” all four guys said.
Just after that, Ryan started screaming and panicking. He was ripping off his shirt and running around in circles asking them to help him. “Guys help me!” Ryan screamed.
“What the heck is wrong with you?” Caitlin asked.
“Get it off of me!!” he screamed some more. Flack, Hawkes, Billy, and Caitlin exchanged looks.
Billy looked over and realized what Ryan was going crazy about. He had walked right into a spider web. Billy busted out laughing.
“What’ so funny?” Hawkes asked.
“He walked into a spider web.” Billy said and then continued laughing. After he said that the rest of them started laughing.
Ryan finally calmed down and began looking for his shirt. “What did you guys do with my shirt?” he asked looking around.
“You tossed it over there.” Caitlin said, pointing by the tree behind Ryan.
“It’s not there.” Ryan said looking by the tree.
“Maybe that man in the robe had something to do with it.” Flack said, not realizing what he said until after he said it.
Flack, Caitlin, Ryan, Billy, and Hawkes all got wide eyed. “Run!” Billy yelled, and then the five of them took off running.
